Civils Contracts Manager
We’re seeking a Civils Contracts Manager to lead the growth and pipeline on a newly awarded framework with United Utilities.
You’ll oversee a range of civils projects on the new Detailed Design and Build framework award working closely alongside our established delivery teams working for the same client. This is a new role where you’ll be hands-on and build the team around you.

What you\’ll be doing
You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the team, managing civils projects from initial concept, ECI through to delivery and completion.
- Utilise specialist civils experience and capability to oversee a wider team delivering complex civils schemes between the value of £100k-£5m.
- Oversee the full project management function of the team, supporting where required, as appropriate to team size, contract value, and size of framework
- Monitor project costs across all areas to ensure maintenance of margin
- Ensure consistent project performance in line with client and company expectations for the area
- Ensure a safe working environment through close collaboration with the SHWEQ department, ensuring teams complete and comply with all health and safety checks
- Assist with root cause analysis where required and work with the management team to resolve problems
- Accountable for ensuring RAMS and CPPs are in place and adhered to
- Oversee temporary works, appointing coordinators where necessary
- Developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Manage labour allocations, ensuring there are sufficient civils teams
- Have active involvement in the BRMR, working closely with the Commercial team
Who we\’re looking for
- Extensive experience in managing and delivering civils projects from conception through to completion
- Previous experience working within the water industry
- Experience in managing civils pre-construction processes, creating a scope of works, supporting on tenders and producing programs
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, CDM regulations and Regulations
- Experience with temporary works management
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a civils team or business unit
- Experience in writing RAMS and CPPs
- Ability to identify and manage risks, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work.
