Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to a number of committees and members.
  • Preparing and writing reports, including statistical information.
  • Taking accurate and detailed minutes of meetings.
  • Actively supporting the overview and scrutiny function and contributing to the administration and clerking of education admission appeals.
  • Contributing to the development and review of policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Supporting key projects and contributing to service improvement.
  • Managing the Modern.gov Committee Management System as an administrator.
  • Researching, understanding and analysing complex information.
  • Establishing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a BTEC National/Higher in Public Administration or a relevant degree.
  • Have experience working for a local authority.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate, including experience with e‑mail and Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage workload.
