Overview
This role plays a vital part in supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our community, ensuring they have access to safe and adequate housing.
Responsibilities
- Investigating housing complaints and undertaking enforcement action.
- Assessing and licensing Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) and caravan sites.
- Conducting inspections to identify disrepair and housing hazards.
- Taking formal enforcement action to ensure compliance with housing legislation.
Qualifications
- A relevant Degree in Environmental Health.
- A solid understanding of housing legislation, guidance, and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Strong communication and organisational skills to manage a diverse and demanding caseload.
- A commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
- Strong background in Housing Enforcement — the service of notices, civil penalties and prosecution work.
