About you

  • The ability to use information technology with precision and speed in relation to all areas of work (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
  • Knowledge regarding developing, maintaining and using a database
  • Knowledge of data protection procedures and guidelines
  • An ability to communicate orally and in writing with parents, professionals, members of the public and colleagues
  • The ability to manage time and prioritise work effectively and adhere to tight deadlines

Key responsibilities

  • To use electronic methods of communication including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and electronic diaries and maintain and use an accurate and confidential database (currently CAPITA 1).
  • To undertake the caseworker role for children known to the service by collating all information and reports and by liaising with professionals linked to a child’s assessment.
  • To prepare all meeting paperwork, agendas and take minutes for the New Referrals Meetings, the Early Years Forum meeting and other relevant meetings.
  • Provide office support to the Early Years SEND Service regarding the assessment of and transition planning for children with SEND.
  • To offer generic advice and guidance.
