This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in safeguarding children at risk of exploitation, coordinating the city's Multi-Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) arrangements and helping partners work together to reduce harm and improve outcomes.

Working closely with social care, police, health, education and community partners, you will coordinate complex multi-agency processes, analyse intelligence and data, support strategic safeguarding activity, chair meetings, deliver training and help shape innovative approaches to contextual safeguarding.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Multi-Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) process, ensuring effective information sharing and decision-making across partner agencies.
  • Analyse safeguarding information, data and intelligence to identify emerging risks, themes, locations and patterns of exploitation.
  • Organise, chair and support a range of multi-agency meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and completed.
  • Provide specialist advice, consultation and guidance to professionals on child exploitation, contextual safeguarding and related harms.
  • Develop and maintain effective systems, reports and performance information to support safeguarding activity and service improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families and partner agencies to improve outcomes and strengthen the city's response to exploitation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You have experience of working within safeguarding, child exploitation, adolescent services or a related multi-agency environment.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and can interpret complex information to identify risks, trends and required actions.
  • You are highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and coordinate complex processes effectively.
  • You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working alongside professionals from a range of agencies.
  • You are confident using digital systems and tools, including Microsoft 365 and information management systems, to manage and present data.
  • You are passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people and committed to a child-centred approach to safeguarding.

In return, you'll join a council that is committed to improving the lives of children and families, where innovation, partnership working and professional development are actively encouraged. You'll work alongside dedicated colleagues who are passionate about making Stoke-on-Trent a safer place for children and young people.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary based on your skills, experience and talent.
  • Hybrid and flexible working options.
  • An excellent local authority benefits pension scheme.
  • Professional development through learning opportunities, regular training sessions and apprenticeship and management schemes.
  • Access to lifestyle benefits which offer a wide range of discounts such as family days out, travel, retail and many more.
