SEN Assistant Practitioner β 32.5 hrs Monday to Friday
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Assistant Practitioner to join our professional team and help pupils overcome barriers to learning, achieve their potential, and thrive in a supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning for individual pupils and small groups
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual SEN needs
- Assist with therapy and care programmes under professional guidance
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and attainment
- Support the development and implementation of individual education plans
- Provide personal care, including toileting, hygiene, dressing and feeding where required
- Build positive relationships with families, carers and external professionals
- Supervise pupils during lessons, breaktimes, lunchtimes and educational visits
- Support pupils with specialist equipment and learning aids
- Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- Flexibility and a positive attitude to supporting diverse learning needs
