Overview

The Education Re-engagement Team works within the Access and Support for Vulnerable Children Service in the Children and Families Directorate in Stoke-on-Trent. The team aims to re-engage children and young people with education, build capacity in schools to meet the needs of an increasingly neuro-diverse school population, ensure that a child\\\’s additional medical/health needs do not become a barrier to educational success, identify at-risk children and signpost schools and families to universal/targeted support, reduce permanent exclusions, and ensure that excluding schools follow national guidance while commissioning a continuum of quality Alternative Provision across the city.

Responsibilities

  • This part-time role includes maintaining accurate records of exclusion cases, preparing and archiving necessary paperwork related to exclusions on Capita, and assisting in preparing documents and evidence for exclusion appeal hearings and Independent Review Panels.
