Actual Salary:£34,185.11 – £36,807.07 (under 5 years local government service)
£34,959.19 – £37,640.52 (over 5 years local government service)

Hours: 37 hours per week

This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants.

This is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week, term-time plus. You will work 38 weeks when the schools are open plus an additional 21 days during the school closure periods.

You will be responsible for providing a high-quality education welfare service to school age children, schools and settings in Stoke-on-Trent.

You will ensure that all children of compulsory school age receive education as required by law.

Take prompt action when appropriate to resolve or prevent attendance or welfare problems, escalating any cases through the formal court proceedings where required.

Work in partnership with children, young people and parents to understand and assess their learning and development needs capturing the needs and views of children.

Work directly with young people to identify their needs and to develop their social education by providing an appropriate programme of activities, services and facilities within buildings and detached.

Work with schools to ensure effective attendance processes are developed and implemented.

You will have proven experience of working with children, young people and families and have in-depth experience and knowledge of preventative and statutory education welfare strategies. You will be able to build effective working relationships and be persuasive, persistent and challenging when required.
