What difference will you make?
Right now, our small team spends almost all our time teaching and running day-to-day operations, which means our powerful stories rarely get told. By taking the lead on our social media, you will:
- Build a strong and consistent online presence that clearly shows who we are, what we do, and the difference we make in our community
- Connect us with local organisations, community groups and businesses who align with our values — opening doors to partnerships, sponsorships and long-term support
- Position our music school as a trusted, recognised organisation, which will make it easier for potential funders and sponsors to see our value and invest in our work
- Free up our Managing Director to focus on face-to-face networking and partnership building, confident that our online reputation reflects our quality and impact
- Give our students a platform to showcase their talents, growth and achievements, helping them feel proud of their work and inspiring the next generation of young musicians
- Strengthen our local reputation and community presence, encouraging more families, young people and older adults to access our services and benefit from the life-changing power of music
- By sharing our impact, help turn our small, passionate music school into a well-connected, well-supported organisation with the long-term stability to keep changing lives
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone dynamic, creative and strategic about using social media to help a small community organisation grow. We would love for you to have:
- Experience in social media management, content creation or digital marketing (professional or voluntary)
- Strong experience in communication and storytelling — able to translate our work and impact into posts that inspire and connect with people
- Understanding of how to build an organisation’s profile online to attract partners, sponsors and community supporters
- Creativity and design sense — confident using tools like or similar to create engaging, visually appealing content
- Networking and engagement skills — comfortable reaching out, tagging and interacting with local organisations, businesses and community groups
- Strategic thinking — able to plan campaigns and create a content calendar aligned with our goals
- Collaborative mindset — happy to work alongside our student team and our small leadership team to coordinate content
- Passion for inclusion, diversity and the power of music to change lives
What will you be doing?
As a one-woman band (no pun intended!), we are proud of the incredible impact our music school has had on our community — but as we focus on teaching and running our programmes, we have little time left to show the world what we do. We have powerful stories to tell about:
- Children from low-income families gaining access to high-quality music education
- Students with Special Educational Needs such as Autism and ADHD finding confidence, expression and community
- Older adults (65+) discovering joy, friendship and purpose through music
Our students have told us this music school has helped them make lifelong friends. By building our online presence, we can grow our community, connect with organisations who see our impact, and build partnerships that will support and sustain our work. We’re looking for someone who can take the lead on our social media presence and help us build our online voice. You’ll work closely with our small leadership team to:
- Create engaging content that celebrates our students, programmes and achievements
- Connect with others online — engaging with local organisations, partners and supporters
- Post consistently across our social media channels in line with our values and mission
- Build networks and partnerships by raising our profile and showcasing our impact
- Help us grow a vibrant online community that inspires people to support and champion our work
