Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a dedicated and insightful Regional Recruitment Coordinator to spearhead our talent identification efforts for the U7-U10 age groups. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to the development and delivery of our Pre-Academy recruitment strategy, identifying players with the potential to become future stars. Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, you will be instrumental in scouting and assessing young players, building relationships within the football community, and ensuring our recruitment processes are robust and effective. The ideal candidate will be completing regular reports and act as a professional ambassador for Stoke City Football Club at all times, representing the Club with integrity. The role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover evening and weekend work. The position will be offered on a full time permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Proactively identifying and monitoring promising young players within the U7-U10 age bracket, aligning with the Club's recruitment strategy and squad requirements.
  • Attending a wide range of fixtures, tournaments, and grassroots events to scout potential new talent, acting swiftly on emerging opportunities and information.
  • Utilising data effectively to support recruitment decisions and articulating informed conclusions during regular scout meetings.
  • Liaising with the recruitment department to arrange trials for identified exceptional talents.
  • Cultivating strong working relationships with internal scouts and developing a robust network of external scouting and intermediary contacts.
  • Communicating effectively and appropriately with players, parents, guardians, and Club staff, always prioritising safeguarding and clear communication.
  • Demonstrating excellent organisational skills and self-management to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of youth player development stages and the nuances of the U7-U10 age groups.
  • Engaging in continual professional development to ensure your work is of the highest quality.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in football scouting, recruitment, or a related sports development role, with a strong understanding of player identification and development, particularly within youth age groups.
  • Exceptional eye for talent and the ability to assess potential in young players (U7-U10).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage workload effectively under pressure.
  • Thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and a commitment to child welfare is paramount.
  • Knowledge of football at various levels, with an awareness of player development pathways.
  • Full UK driving licence and FA Talent Identification Level is desirable.
