Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Academy Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist working on a casual basis to support its Academy Medical operations primarily based at Clayton Wood Training Ground. Reporting to the Academy Manager and the Academy Medical Lead, you will be responsible for providing physiotherapy services to all players in the Academy, primarily focusing on the U9s to U16s age groups, as well as promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of all Academy players.

The ideal candidate will be required to assess, deliver and manage suitable and effective treatments for injured players, as well as supporting rehabilitation programmes. You will also be required to maintain up to date medical records and attend relevant internal and external CPD events.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the Academy injury clinics to ensure an excellent rehabilitation and seamless return of play.
  • Assisting with pitch side medical cover for Academy training sessions and games programme.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders including parents, coaches and other members of the medical team regarding the status of injured players and their rehabilitation including returning to play.
Key Skills, Experiences and Qualifications:
  • HCPC, BASRaT Registered or valid SST membership required.
  • ATMMiF, ITMMiF qualification or equivalent are essential.
  • Experience in working with young elite athletes, creating and managing programmes to facilitate their long term athletic development.
  • Excellent IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Full, clean driving licence is desirable.

The position will be offered on a casual basis, with the successful applicant available to work evenings and weekends when required.
