An exciting opportunity has arisen at Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League, for a part time Lead Academy Age Group Coach to support its football operations at our Category One status Academy at Clayton Wood Training Ground and various development centre locations. Reporting to the Head of Academy Coaching, the Lead Academy Age Group Coach will play a crucial role in supporting and developing young players. You will work alongside the academy team to plan and deliver a weekly programme aimed at enhancing player performance and working towards player development plans.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering coaching sessions to academy players, demonstrating a commitment to helping future talents reach their highest potential.
Main Responsibilities- Planning, delivering and evaluating all coaching activities.
- Reviewing and recommending changes to the coaching curriculum.
- Providing reports to the Head of Academy Coaching.
- Attending national and regional meetings and workshops, training courses as required.
- Improving performances through developing, implementing and evaluating player performance.
- Meeting with Lead Phase Coaches to discuss progress of players.
- Football background either as a player or coach.
- UEFA B qualification in Coaching in addition to FA Youth Coaching Modules 3, and working towards Advanced Youth Award.
- Knowledge and understanding of elite level requirements.
- Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team of staff.
- Thorough understanding of EPPP requirements.
- Excellent planning and communication skills.
- Experience of working in an Academy and managing coaches is desirable.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of flexibility to cover evenings and weekends work as required.
The position will be offered on a part time permanent basis. All relevant training will be provided.
