Job Description
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for a Groundsperson to support its operations at the bet365 Stadium and Clayton Wood Training Ground.
Reporting to the Grounds Manager the successful applicant will be actively involved in the daily maintenance of all types of sports turf and landscaped areas across all sites. The role will require a hands on approach to ensure our pitches and various facilities are prepared to a high standard for both match days and training sessions.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated, highly motivated, and professional individual with a passion for sports turf to play a key role in expanding our grounds team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Providing maintenance and repairs on match days.
- Carrying out general ground duties such as grass cutting and line marking.
- Reviewing own work practices and environment to identify potential hazards.
- Ensuring the safe use, storage, calibration and disposal of pesticides and other similar substances.
- Contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
Key Skills and Experience
- Working towards NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a football environment would be beneficial.
- Previous experience at a supervisor level is desirable but not essential.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
The ideal candidate will be available to work evenings and weekends to cover matchday fixtures and other adhoc events at the bet365 Stadium and Clayton Wood Training Ground.
Positions will be offered on a full time permanent basis. All relevant training will be provided.
