Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an experienced First Team Scout to support the recruitment team.
Reporting to the Head of Scouting Operations the successful candidate will have experience and a comprehensive understanding of being able to identify, evaluate and track talented football players via live scouting, video analysis and data analysis.
The ideal candidate will be completing regular detailed reports and maintain their own personal shortlists of recommended players to present at meetings or to the Head of Recruitment to assist in player recruitment decisions for the First Team.
Main Responsibilities
- Identifying players through live and video scouting, in both the UK and overseas.
- Tracking and monitoring player activity over a period of time.
- Reporting accurate and concise information to describe and assess a playerβs performance to prescribed deadlines using the correct reporting channels and criteria.
- Assisting in the collation of information, market changes and updates or insight across all aspects of the industry.
- Attending regular scout meetings with the First Team recruitment department and preparing in advance of those meetings updates of all personal scouting activity and targeted players.
- Having a detailed understanding of specific Stoke City positional player profiles, attending Stoke City training and matches to enhance this knowledge.

- Extensive experience working in a recruitment department within a professional football environment.
- Extensive knowledge of domestic and overseas markets.
- Ability to work in a target driven environment as part of a close team.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical mindset and meticulous eye for detail.
- Strong IT Skills with experience using online scouting and video platforms.
- Professional and hardworking in their attitude and approach, directly bringing player recommendations to conversations and meetings.
- Experience of using industry standard analysis software and data providers.
- Adhere to codes of conduct, ethics and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- F.A Talent Identification Level 1, 2 or 3 is desirable.
The role requires a high degree of flexibility to cover evening and weekend work as required, and the willingness to undertake domestic and overseas travel.
The position will be offered on a full time permanent basis.
