Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Apprentice Groundsperson to support its operations at the bet365 Stadium and Clayton Wood Training Ground. Reporting to the Grounds Manager, the successful candidate will be actively involved in the daily maintenance of all types of sports turf and landscaped areas across all sites. The role will require a hands-on approach to ensure our pitches and various facilities are prepared to a high standard for both match days and training sessions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day maintenance and repairs on match days and training sessions.
  • Assisting with general ground duties such as grass cutting and line marking.
  • Learning to operate a variety of equipment and machinery, such as cylinder mowers, aerators and tractors.
  • Ensuring the pitches are safe, secure and free of debris.
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
  • Working towards the Level 2 Sports Turf Operative qualification.

This is a full-time position. The successful candidate must be flexible, as the role requires working evenings and weekends to cover matchday fixtures and other ad hoc events at the bet365 Stadium and Clayton Wood Training Ground. All relevant training will be provided.
