We are working exclusively with a FTSE 50 listed, acquisition-led group to hire a Head of Finance Systems & Data into their central Group Finance function. The business operates a deliberately decentralised model across autonomous operating companies, active in more than 20 countries. Following the completion of a major multi-year CCH Tagetik implementation, the group is now transitioning from project delivery into operational excellence and value creation. This role exists to lead that transition. This is not a Tagetik administrator role and it is not a finance transformation programme lead. It is a finance systems leadership position: someone who can stabilise and optimise what has been built, improve the experience for finance teams across the group, and then shape the longer-term finance technology strategy. The mandate is broad, the sponsorship is senior, and the scope to make a genuine impact is real.

What you will do:

  • Take product ownership of CCH Tagetik and the wider finance systems landscape, including Anaplan, Kyriba, Concur and RiskHub.
  • Stabilise and optimise Tagetik operations: improving consistency, accuracy, governance and the day-to-day experience for finance users across the group.
  • Build the routines, disciplines and support processes that move the function from post-implementation to sustainable operational excellence.
  • Define and own the medium-term finance systems roadmap, increasing automation, data connectivity and integration across platforms.
  • Act as the bridge between Group Finance and the central Technology function, managing vendors and AMS partners in partnership.
  • Explore AI and advanced analytics opportunities as the function matures.
  • Lead, develop and grow a high-performing team across systems, data and finance process excellence.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven ownership of finance systems at a senior level, accountable for roadmap, governance and business outcomes, not simply a systems user.
  • Hands-on experience with consolidation and group reporting platforms; CCH Tagetik is ideal, with OneStream, Oracle FCCS, Hyperion, SAP Group Reporting or SAP BPC all relevant.
  • Experience inheriting a finance system post-implementation and driving the shift from go-live to value realisation.
  • A track record of acting as a credible bridge between Finance and Technology, managing competing priorities and influencing without hierarchy.
  • Strong understanding of group financial reporting and the connections across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • High EQ, collaborative leadership style and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations under pressure, repeatedly emphasised as a critical success factor by the hiring team.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in a low-ego, entrepreneurial culture.

We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace for our clients that promotes and values diversity. Companies that are diverse in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity and perspective are proven to be better companies. More importantly, creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do.
