STOIX is retained by a globally recognised, heritage luxury business to appoint a senior finance leader to partner with a newly appointed Group CFO during a critical phase of stabilisation, transformation, and disciplined growth. This is a hands‑on, number‑two role in the truest sense. It will suit someone who enjoys owning the core, fixing what needs fixing, and being the calm, credible counterweight and number‑2 to an excellent, transformational CFO.
The business operates internationally across multiple regions and specialist verticals, with:
- Complex revenue recognition
- Asset‑heavy inventory dynamics
- Long‑tenured teams and legacy ways of working
The recent ownership and leadership change has created a clear mandate: strengthen the finance foundations first, then build forward.
Role
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you will take end‑to‑end ownership of the financial control and governance backbone of the group. Your remit will include:
- Group accounting, statutory reporting and audit leadership
- Ownership of complex accounting judgements and audit papers
- Global tax and treasury oversight (cash, controls, discipline)
- Tightening month‑end, reporting cadence and board outputs
- Simplifying processes and clarifying roles in a decentralised environment
- Leading and upgrading a long‑standing finance team through change
FP&A capability will be built over time, but this role secures the engine room first.
Qualifications
- ACA qualified (or equivalent) with strong technical grounding from Big 4 / Top 10 firm
- Have held a Group FD / Deputy FD / Group FC / Head of Finance role
- Have led audit, statutory reporting, tax and treasury in a lean environment
- Be comfortable operating hands‑on, without large teams or heavy infrastructure
- Have experience improving finance operating rhythm, controls and accountability
- Understand how FP&A and business partnering should work, even if it has not been your primary background
- Experience in PE‑backed or fast‑paced, investor‑led environments is helpful, but not essential. Pace and pragmatism matter more than labels.
Inclusion and Diversity
We’re passionate about creating an inclusive workplace for our clients that promotes and values diversity. Companies that are diverse in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective are proven to be better companies.
