Overview
We are retained by a high-growth, PE-backed buy-and-build services business for the appointment of a Director of Group FP&A. This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch role at the heart of a fast-moving investment story. Budgets are obsolete within weeks; forecasts move monthly; deals land constantly. This is not a role for a slide reviewer — it is for someone who wants to own the numbers, shape the narrative, and operate at pace.
The context
- 90%+ inorganic growth
- Rolling forecast required as standard
- Lean group team, limited legacy process, high ambition
The role
Reporting to the Group CFO, you will:
- Build and run a robust rolling forecast cadence and FP&A function
- Own group forecasting, modelling and performance insight
- Act as the financial spine between M&A activity, lenders and leadership
- Bring discipline, clarity and pace to a stretched but committed finance team
- Develop an existing FP&A leader and set best-practice standards
The ideal profile / Qualifications
- A Big 4 ACA qualified accountant with experience in Transaction Services/Corporate Finance
- PE-backed FP&A experience or a buy-and-build environment
- Comfortable with equity bridges, IRRs, covenant logic and deal models
- Intellectually sharp, commercially grounded, and willing to roll sleeves up
- Calm under pressure, high energy, no ego
- PE fluency and operating judgement
London-based, with meaningful in-office presence expected.
