Volunteer Retail Assistants- Thornaby

Everyone has their own reasons for volunteering, often it is due to having some personal contact or experience with the hospice and a wish to give something back to us, but for others it can provide:

Give it a try – join our team – without the support of our wonderful volunteers, we couldn’t provide our services to the local community.

Role summary:

By selling donated goods, you can play your part in raising the vital funds we need to provide our services to the local community. You can also help the planet by giving items a second lease of life!

Days required:

We are looking, primarily, to build our team numbers up on a Tuesday or Saturday, but would love to hear from you if you can help us at other times as well (the shop is open Monday-Saturday.)

Normally we would ask for you to attend for one or two shifts per week, in the morning or afternoon (as below). However, the hours you help us are up to you – whether it’s for a couple of hours or a full day, once or twice a week – we really appreciate any help you can give us.

Morning: 9am-1pm

Afternoon: 1pm-4.30pm

Main Tasks:

Working as part of a team, delivering excellent customer service, you can help us with:

• Sorting
• Displaying
• Selling merchandise
• General / ad hoc tasks
• Cleaning

You can specialise in one area if you prefer – but if you are looking for variety, we would love it if you could help out in all of these areas as the need arises.

No specific skills or experience required – training will be provided as necessary.

We are looking for friendly people that are enthusiastic, trustworthy, and work well within a team.
