As a Family Engagement Volunteer, you will assess a family’s bed requirement needs, provide emotional support, connect families to resources, advocate for families, support collaboration with partner agencies, monitor and evaluate Zarach families’ progress, promote self-advocacy and empowerment, and ensure confidentiality and privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality, equitable service for all families
  • Visit referred families to ensure the correct number of beds for children in the household
  • Refer complex cases to the Family Engagement Officer
  • Record information from visits and keep the Family Engagement Officer updated
  • Communicate effectively with the Family Engagement and Volunteer Team
  • Comply with all health & safety guidance at all times

Experience

Experience volunteers are preferred due to the nature of the role. However, if you are the right person for this role we would be happy to train and support you!

Qualifications

  • Experience in a safeguarding role within family engagement/family support, social services, or health and social care backgrounds.
  • Lived experience working with vulnerable adults and children, including entering their homes.
  • Kind, caring, respectful, confident, approachable.
