'Pupils behave well. Staff and pupils get on well' Ofsted, February 2023

Northfield School is a large 11-16 community school and specialist sports college. We are an ambitious and inclusive school with state-of-the-art facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced newly refurbished main building, a newly built separate Year 7 school, and extensive sports facilities shared with the community.

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, proactive and professional colleague to join our strong and dedicated guidance team in the role of Year Manager. The Year Manager must be committed to providing high quality pastoral care, guidance and support to pupils in a designated year group.

Northfield's year groups are large; as a result, the successful applicant would be joining a team of three. The year group is led by a Head of Year, supported by an Assistant Head of Year.

A crucial part of this role will be following the school's systems and procedures to promote good attendance by working very closely with pupils, families and external agencies, as well as providing day to day operational support to the year team in supervising pupils and promoting good behaviour.

Following an inspection in February 2023, Ofsted judged the school to be good in all areas. This is a great time to join the school and a fantastic opportunity for the right colleague to make a real difference to the life chances of our young people.

We can offer you:

  • an enthusiastic, talented and supportive team
  • a newly built and superbly resourced teaching and learning environment
  • excellent opportunities for CPD
  • a staff health and well-being programme
  • a warm, friendly and positive working environment where everyone is valued

An official application form and further details are available on our web page www.northfieldssc.org and should be returned to HR@northfieldssc.org. Alternatively, applications are also accepted by post (FAO Catherine Frost). NB: we do not accept CVs.

Visits to the school are welcome by appointment; please call Catherine Frost on 01642 557373 or email HR@northfieldssc.org.

CLOSING DATE: FRIDAY 20TH JUNE 2025, 9am

The school is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. The posts are subject to enhanced disbarring bureau service disclosure.
