An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary, part-time (22.5 hours) Social Care Officer to work within the Sensory Support Team.

This specialist team covers both children and adults living in the Stockton-on-Tees area.

This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with individuals, carers and partner agencies, delivering person-centred support that makes a real difference to people's lives every day.

The team carries out specialist assessments and provides tailored support to those with sensory needs, promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.

The team's main aims

  • Assess the sensory needs of individuals
  • Help to prevent, reduce and delay the need for formal on-going social care support
  • Offer information and advice to enable people to access the right support at the right time
  • Explore and facilitate the use of equipment and assistive technology to promote independence and wellbeing
  • Help people to connect with others within the community and reduce loneliness, As this is a fixed-term post, secondment opportunities will be considered for internal employees.
