Senior Residential Care Officer - Edge of Care

As a Senior Residential Care Officer, you will:

• Lead and support shifts within our children's homes.




• Act as a positive role model for children, young people and colleagues.




• Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments.




• Build meaningful relationships with children and young people, helping them to feel safe, valued and heard.




• Work in partnership with families, social workers, education, health and other professionals.




• Mentor and develop less experienced staff members.




• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our residential services.




• Promote opportunities for children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and participate fully in their communities.




• Share our commitment to putting children at the heart of everything we do.

This post operates on a 7-day rota system, including:

• Evenings and weekends




• Sleep‑in duties




• Waking night arrangements when required, Please note that we're unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role, so candidates will need to have an existing right to work in the UK.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and child-focused Senior Residential Care Officer to join our ambitious and dedicated residential care team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with complex needs, helping them to thrive in safe, nurturing and aspirational homes.

• Hold a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England).




• Have experience of working with children, young people and families who present with complex needs and behaviours that challenge services.




• Understand trauma‑informed, relationship‑based practice.




• Have experience of care planning, risk assessment and safeguarding.




• Can confidently lead shifts and manage challenging situations.




• Are reflective, resilient and solution focused.




• Have excellent communication and partnership‑working skills.




• Hold a full UK driving licence.
