School Crossing Patrol Officer

What you’ll do

As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you’ll be a familiar and trusted presence outside local schools, helping children, parents and other pedestrians cross the road safely.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supervising school crossings and ensuring they operate safely and effectively.
• Helping children, families and members of the public cross roads safely.
• Following road safety procedures and Highway Code guidance.
• Providing a welcoming, professional and customer-focused service.
• Being a positive and reassuring presence within the local community.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, approachable and enjoys interacting with people of all ages.

You will

• Be punctual, reliable and committed.
• Enjoy working independently and using your own initiative.
• Be confident communicating with children, parents and the wider public.
• Be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year and in all weather conditions.
• Be able to stand roadside for periods of time and maintain good awareness of road safety.

You don’t need previous experience as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. We’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

• Term Time Only plus 2 days
• Actual salary: £5,700
