Look no further! We have a fantastic 12-month opportunity as a Public Health Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive Public Health team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

This is a rewarding opportunity to influence how public health services are delivered across our borough, empowering our residents to lead healthier, safer lives. This role has a particular focus on developing and supporting domestic abuse services, whilst also contributing to other key areas within Public Health such as Complex Lives and Children & Families, as needed.

We are seeking a forward-thinking and innovative individual who thrives on using their public health expertise to influence both strategic and operational outcomes.

In practice, the role will involve:

  • Influencing strategic and operational activities relating to the prevention of and response to domestic abuse
  • Collaborating with partners to implement strategic priorities set within the Domestic Abuse Strategy for Stockton-on-Tees
  • Mobilising and performance managing the new sanctuary service
  • Monitoring of current contracted services provided by Harbour

All you need to be a success is:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in public health
  • Proven experience in planning, implementing and evaluating public health programmes
  • Ability to interpret and apply data insights to support evidence-based decision making
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
