Are you friendly, caring and passionate about making a difference in your local community?
Do you thrive in a dynamic, supportive and team-oriented environment where no two days are the same?
Would you like a flexible role that allows you to work around your other commitments?
If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
As a OneCall Officer, you will help deliver a 24-hour emergency response service that supports the safety, wellbeing and independence of our clients. Working with a diverse range of people, you'll provide meaningful, hands-on support that makes a real difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents, helping them remain safe and comfortable in their own homes.
About the role
No two shifts are ever the same. You could be:
- Supporting clients through our call handling platform from the control centre.
- Responding to clients in their own homes following a fall or emergency activation.
- Visiting clients to review and update their support profiles.
- Providing practical assistance and wellbeing support to help people maintain their independence.
We're looking for individuals who are caring, resourceful and efficient, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service and support.
To help you carry out your role, OneCall provides:
- A vehicle for use during your shift.
- Lifting equipment.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Full uniform.
- Training and ongoing support.
Working pattern
This is a casual position, with work offered on an as-needed basis to support service requirements. You will provide cover during periods of annual leave, sickness absence and increased demand, so flexibility and the ability to work at short notice are important.
As hours are not guaranteed and can vary from week to week, this role is ideal for someone seeking flexible work that fits around other personal or professional commitments.
This role involves both day and night shifts, working 12-hour shifts as part of a rotating rota that supports our 24-hour service operation.
What we're looking for
While experience in social care is desirable, we welcome applications from individuals who share our values and are committed to making a positive difference in people's lives.
We're looking for people who:
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion and professionalism in all aspects of their work.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Work confidently both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Remain calm, adaptable and resilient when responding to changing situations and priorities.
- Are committed to promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing for vulnerable individuals.
- Hold a current full UK driving licence.
If you're looking for a flexible and rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to people's lives every day, we'd love to hear from you.
What we offer
- A casual hourly rate of £15.85.
- A rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the lives of local residents.
- Full training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
- Flexible casual working arrangements that can fit around your personal or professional commitments.
- Access to a wide range of employee benefits, including learning and development opportunities and discounts at high street and online retailers.
