Vacancy: Attendance Support Officer
Start: ASAP
Contract: 37.5 hrs/wk, 8.00-4.00, term time only. Salary: Grade H point 14 – 17, £25,200 – £26,464 (actual pay). Fixed term one year contract from agreed start date. Closing Date: Friday 3rd October 2025, 9am.

Northfield School is a large 11-16 community school and specialist sports college. We are an ambitious and inclusive school with state-of-the-art facilities and interactive technology in a well-resourced newly refurbished main building, a newly built separate Year 7 school, and extensive sports facilities shared with the community.
To continue the school’s drive to improve pupil attendance by further increasing capacity in this area, we wish to appoint an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, proactive and professional colleague to join our attendance team in the role of an Attendance Support Officer.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Work proactively to make positive relationships with individual and groups of pupils and their families, in collaboration with the Attendance Manager and Guidance Teams to improve the attendance of those pupils who are persistently absent, particularly those who are disadvantaged.
- A significant amount of the working day will involve home visits and knocking on doors to help pupils get into school.
