Role Overview

An Animal Collection Officer at Stockton‑on‑Tees Borough Council ensures the highest standards of welfare for animals that come into council care. The role involves securing, handling, kennelling, transporting, cleaning and feeding companion animals, predominantly dogs.

Responsibilities

  • Securing, handling, kennelling, transporting, cleaning and feeding companion animals, mainly dogs.
  • Working according to a weekly shift pattern with weekend cover 1 in 4 weekends.
  • Upkeeping animal welfare standards and managing kennels.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have relevant experience and qualifications in dealing with companion animals, predominantly dogs. Refer to the Person Specification for essential and desirable criteria.

  • A competitive salary from £26,403 to £28,598.
  • 27 days annual leave, rising to 32 days with five years’ service (plus bank holidays). Additional leave may be purchased.
