The successful applicant will have the responsibility of supporting students with a range of Cognition & Learning needs.

Contract Details: Grade H (SCP 14-17), Term time only + 5 days, 37 hours per week.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified SEND Lead Practitioner for Medical, Physical and Emotional Health to work with students with medical and physical needs across the school and within our provision for anxious students. This will involve implementing agreed work programmes with individuals/groups of students with Emotional health needs, whilst providing support in addressing the needs of students who need particular help in overcoming barriers to learning. This would also include support for particular medical needs and will involve the management/preparation of medicines and care plans.

We are looking for someone dynamic, caring and motivated who has a desire to work with students with additional needs and who is passionate about preparing them for the future. We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual with the following skills, knowledge and personality:

  • A passion and interest in supporting students with learning difficulties.
  • Experience of working in an educational provision is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal skills enabling effective liaison with teaching and support staff teams.
  • An understanding of the National Curriculum expectations at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Commitment and dependability within the workplace with ability to use your own initiative.
  • A professional, nurturing resilient approach.
  • The willingness to work flexibly and constructively as part of a team, providing day to day classroom support to students.
  • To establish positive working relationships with the student, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
  • To be willing to deliver bespoke interventions to identified students.
  • A proactive and positive attitude in wanting to help, guide and support vulnerable students.

The successful candidate will work in a strong, supportive school team under the direction of the SENCO.
