We’re on the lookout for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join our Security and Surveillance Team — a vital part of our mission to protect public spaces, reduce crime, and enhance community confidence.

As a Control Room Operative, you’ll be at the heart of our 24/7 operations, working in a modern CCTV and alarm receiving centre. We are looking for someone with potential to contribute to the Council’s vision for a safer environment for both the communities our residents live in but also for visitors to our town centres, parks, and open spaces.

Every day will be different, but the things you can expect to be involved in include:

  • Monitor live feeds to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
  • Respond to calls from the public and local businesses with professionalism and care
  • Use cutting-edge software to support real-time decision-making
  • Help protect council, business, and public assets across the borough

Your work will matter, as you will be directly supporting our goals to:

  • Reduce crime and environmental offences
  • Lower the fear of crime in our communities
  • Safeguard vehicles, property, and public spaces
  • Protecting our communities is a 24/7 operation, with 12-hour day and night shifts — ideal for those who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

While holding SIA CCTV and Security Licences is desirable, we welcome applicants who are willing to work towards these qualifications within six months of employment.
