About the Academy
Abbey Hill Academy Sixth Form is part of Horizons Specialist Academy Trust, supporting students aged 16‑19 with learning difficulties, autism and physical disabilities.
Role Overview
We are seeking two Level 3 Teaching Assistants for ICT and Mathematics. The TA will support students with additional needs, helping them access learning and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons for ICT and Mathematics.
- Provide support for students’ physical, social and academic needs within the classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and support workers to accommodate individual learning plans.
- Attend staff training and professional development days.
- Assess and record student progress in line with statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in ICT or Mathematics.
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs such as autism or physical disabilities.
- Strong communication, empathy and organisational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and adaptively within a multidisciplinary team.
Salary and Hours
Hours: 32.5 hrs term time + 5 professional learning days. Salary: £21,418 – £23,542 (pay award pending); award based on JC grade H 14-17.
