Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN 1 – £32,916 to £51,048 + £2,787 SEN 1 allowance

Required for April 2026 – Permanent Post

Overview: Abbey Hill Academy and Abbey Hill Academy 6th Form specialise in meeting the needs of students aged 11 to 18 who have a full range of learning disabilities. The academy is seeking to recruit a teacher of Maths to predominantly join our Post 16 team (there will also be some lessons based in our school provision) from April 2025. The Sixth Form provides a broad and balanced curriculum for approximately 75 students aged from 16 to 18 years who have a range of learning difficulties, as well as other physical and emotional needs. Knowledge and experience of teaching Primary and/or entry level/level 1 Maths would be an advantage. Experience of delivering courses such as functional skills would also be an advantage but is not essential.

The right candidate will need to be an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher, with high expectations of our students and have the ability, perseverance and resilience to be an outstanding practitioner.

• Work primarily with the Post 16 team and also conduct lessons in the school provision.
• Utilise strong curriculum knowledge and teaching expertise.
• Communicate effectively and build interpersonal relationships with colleagues and students.
• Work as part of a team of teachers and support staff.
• Have proven ability to work with students with SEN (desirable but not essential).
