Benefits & Grade: Grade I/J, NJC points 19‑26. Actual salary: £27,700‑£32,209 (pay award pending). Contracted hours: 37 hours per week. Contract type: Term time only + 5 PL days.

Horizons Specialist Academy Trust consists of eight Academies and one Sixth Form across the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire area, serving a population in excess of 1,000 students with a broad range of additional needs. Westlands Academy, located in Thornaby, caters for students aged 11‑16 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMHD) and was rated as ‘Good’ in our most recent Ofsted.

Responsibilities

The right candidate will work alongside our current staff using Trust procedures to manage the improvement of behaviour, attitudes and pastoral care of all students. The successful candidate will join an experienced and successful team committed to high standards and promoting the education and welfare of young people with SEMHD.

Qualifications

Previous experience of working with students with SEMHD would be desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential requirements of this post. The environment is collaborative and supportive, with staff valued and nurtured.
