We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a WISH Activity Team Member at Stocks Hall Skelmersdale. This role involves providing high-quality support to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or dementia care is highly desirable but not required. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating a warm and supportive environment for our residents, many of whom may be living with Alzheimer’s or other cognitive impairments. This is a paid position suitable for those passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of older adults. WISH stands for wellbeing, interests, socialisation and hobbies! This role is for 4 days per week (some weekend work may be required for celebrating national holidays and company events).
Responsibilities
- Support residents with specialised needs related to dementia and Alzheimer’s care
- Promote independence whilst ensuring safety at all times
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to enhance their quality of life
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure personalised care plans are followed
- Uphold dignity and respect for all residents, fostering a caring and respectful environment
Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home environments, or senior care is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s care techniques
- Strong communication skills to interact empathetically with residents and their families
- Caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly individuals
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the needs of different residents
- Organised with good attention to detail in recording care activities and observations
- A genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care and supporting vulnerable adults
