The role?
- Leading and developing the firm's compliance framework, policies and procedures.
- Advising the COLP and Board on regulatory requirements and emerging risks.
- Taking on MLRO responsibility, including internal suspicious activity reports and disclosures to the NCA.
- Overseeing AML risk assessments and CDD processes.
- Managing complaints and liaising with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA.
- Overseeing audits, risk registers and compliance breaches.
- Delivering training that helps colleagues understand how the requirements apply to their work.
About you?
- You'll bring significant compliance experience, ideally within a law firm.
- You’ll have strong knowledge of SRA requirements and AML legislation.
- You're comfortable advising senior stakeholders and challenging when something needs a closer look.
- You can give practical, commercially minded advice and explain the reasoning behind it.
- You enjoy taking ownership, building relationships and finding ways to improve how things are done.
- You'll be educated to degree level.
