The predicted salary is between 22788 - 25130 £ per year.
The post holder is required to support the lead immunisation Midwife to help implement, monitor, and maintain a safe and quality assured relevant vaccination programme locally. The purpose is to carry out failsafe activities that ensure women are offered and given timely immunisations throughout their pregnancy and record them on the national NHS recorder vaccination services system. (RAVS) in a timely way.
Data for national standards would be required to be kept thus helping to track and thus minimise the risk of harm or missed immunisations to mothers and babies for which Stockport NHS Trust are responsible.
Applicants will require a full UK driving licence and access to a car for work.
Main duties of the job
- Efficient and effective administration of national Immunisation programmes.
- Maintenance of an accurate immunisation database
- Provision of accurate statistical information.
- Provide administrative support to the Immunisation Lead Midwife including photocopying, filing, faxing, scanning and other routine office tasks.
- Liaise closely with the Lead Immunisation Midwife, wards, ANC and community midwives, paediatricians, and Ultrasound department to help ensure the smooth running of the service.
- Answer telephone enquiries, refer issues to other members of the business group as appropriate and act as the main point of contact in relation to issues/updates for the Failsafe system.
- Liaise as appropriate with external service providers.
- Provide data to the Lead Immunisation midwife for the required KPI\’s.
- Provide a daily analysis of breaches of Failsafe Systems and to action them appropriately and alert line manager when users of the service are adversely affected.
- Attend MDT meetings with the immunisation lead regarding patients care and any regional/national update meetings.
- Maintain a flexible approach to the post in order to rapidly assimilate changes in workload, patterns and requirements.

Job responsibilities

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

Education & Qualifications
- oGood Standard of general education
- oFunctional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards
- oNVQ3 in IT or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Knowledge
- oKnowledge of the Immunisation services and Failsafe procedures
- oKnowledge of NHS hospital administrative systems e.g. PAS, EK, patient centre etc or willingness to learn
- oExperience and understanding of Data Protection
- oKnowledge of when to seek advice and elevate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
- oUnderstanding of Medical terminology
Experience
- oExperience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
- oComprehensive experience of using work processing and data analysis software packages i.e. Microsoft Excel, Database, Word and Outlook.
- oPrevious experience of providing administrative support within the NHS or care setting.
- oExperience of dealing with members of the public.
- oExperience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- oExperience of operating in a busy office environment.
- oExperience of note taking and producing minutes of meetings.
- oExperience of Audits.
