The post holder will support the Multi-Disciplinary Theatre Team in the overall day to day operational running of Theatres. Ensuring that high quality standards of care that meet with best practice are maintained. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including Electronic Patient Record (EPR), Theatres electronic dashboard, and supporting the ADD in maximising operational usage of the theatre estate to a minimum of 85%. As a registered practitioner, you will assist in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times whilst providing support for junior staff. You will play a key role in the supervision and assessment of learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named supervisor, 1. Accountable for the quality of care delivered within the theatre department on a 24hour basis.2. Act as a visible leader within Theatres providing leadership that enables professional decision makingand effective team working, direct responsibility for line management of the operational support staff.3. Ensuring on a day-to-day basis that planning, allocation and evaluation of work carried out by teamsor individuals and self is co-ordinated.4. Participation in delivery of clinical work to remain competent and as required to cover workload anddemand.5. Provide specialist knowledge to all nursing and Allied Health Professional staff in the department.6. Promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of patient care ensuring that the unitenvironment is responsive to current issues.7. Ensure that all existing procedures and protocols, relating to the care of patients, are reviewed andupdated as required.8. Ensure due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients.9. Explore and undertake expanded practice to optimise patient care as required within specialist area, inaccordance with Trust policies.10. Develop a mechanism for setting goals and bench marking standards of care. For example, ModelHospital.11. Develop tools to improve the quality of the service provided within the unit to include clinical audit.Support at the Theatre Utilisation Board (TUB) meetings where activity is discussed.
