Fixed-Term Contract for 2 years. Full Time (37 hours per week). Could you make a real difference for people in later life? We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Partnership and Engagement Officer to join our Live Well in Later Life programme in Stockport. This is one of ten programmes across Greater Manchester (GM), an initiative focused on creating inclusive neighbourhoods where older people can thrive, maintain independence and live well for longer.

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with local residents, community groups and partner organisations to shape services that reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and ensure older people are at the heart of decision-making.

About the role

You’ll work collaboratively with the GM Ageing Hub, Stockport Council (SMBC), and a wide range of local partners to strengthen partnership working, enhance resident engagement, and deliver initiatives that support older people. A key focus of the role will be working with older tenants and residents to help them live independently, safely and well within their homes and communities, reducing social isolation and supporting active, healthy ageing.

Working closely with colleagues, partners and a resident-led steering group, you will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, community groups and partner organisations
  • Design and deliver inclusive engagement activities to ensure diverse voices shape services
  • Support initiatives that enhance wellbeing and reduce loneliness
  • Strengthen partnerships across housing, health and community services
  • Act as a first point of contact for enquiries, providing advice and signposting
  • Lead or support multi-agency projects that deliver positive outcomes for older people
  • Promote both digital and face-to-face engagement opportunities
  • Capture and report engagement activity to demonstrate impact
  • Contribute to enhancing the organisation’s reputation as a leader in age-friendly housing

About you

You’ll be a confident communicator with a genuine passion for community engagement and improving outcomes for older people. You will bring:

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, adapting your approach to different audiences
  • A collaborative, innovative and proactive mindset
  • A flexible “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Digital confidence and experience using Microsoft Office and other systems
  • A customer-focused, empathetic approach
  • The ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
