Emergency Control Room & CCTV Operator in Stockport

Permanent Full-Time 38.5 hours per week (worked on arota basis of shifts)

Responsibilities

• Provide daily 24/7/365 monitoring of public space and housing stock CCTV and respond to fire alarm activations.
• Answer out‑of‑hours calls from customers and monitor CCTV for SHG customers across the Borough.
• Identify criminality and ASB proactively across the Borough and support Neighbourhoods and Safer Neighbourhoods services.
• Liaise with contractors when faults occur and assist GMP and Safer Neighbourhoods Team with evidence‑led investigations.
• Direct security guards to various locations and support the delivery of a 24/7/365 service at evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Essential: Ability to apply for and obtain an SIA licence (provided by SHG). Strong communication and written skills; calm and professional reaction to live incidents. Attention to detail and ability to spot suspicious behaviour, relaying key information to relevant agencies. Positive, enthusiastic approach to challenging work and independent decision‑making with minimal escalation.
• Desirable: Experience in security services and CCTV operations; existing SIA CCTV licence holder.

Applicants must undergo satisfactory basic clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service, enhanced references for the last five years, and complete GMP vetting for Police Airwaves Radio use.
