As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll gain valuable, hands-on experience while working towards a recognised level 3 qualification. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn and develop practical skills in a supportive environment. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to their assigned college, training provider, or workplace as required.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting operatives with trade repairs across domestic and commercial properties
- Developing practical skills through a mixture of college learning and on-the-job training
- Following health and safety procedures, including PPE and COSHH regulations
- Demonstrating professionalism, punctuality, and a willingness to learn
- Embracing SHG values and maintaining a positive, safety-first approach
- Contributing to team activities and supporting colleagues
- Attending college and completing coursework and assessments
- Engaging in ongoing training and development opportunities
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent customer service skills
- A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning
- Commitment to both workplace and academic learning
- Good organisation skills and ability to manage tasks effectively
- A full UK driving licence (or willingness to obtain one during the apprenticeship)
- GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4/C or above) or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at SHG, you must:
- Have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years by the start of the apprenticeship.
- Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
- Applicants must not already hold the same or higher-level qualification in the same subject area.
Assessment Day
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day on the 30th or 31st July 2026.
Training & Development
You will receive both on-the-job and off-the-job training, with day-release attendance at college. A structured induction and training plan will support you throughout your apprenticeship, leading to a recognised qualification upon completion.
