We are currently recruiting for a Motiv8 Employability Key Worker to join our team.
About Motiv8: Motiv8 is a programme that supports those furthest from the labour market. Funded by the DWP since 2023, it provides personalised support to help people with complex needs move towards employment. It is led by Jigsaw Support and delivered in partnership with Skylight, Starts with you, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group, For Housing, and Shelter.
About the Role: As an Employability Keyworker, you will manage and monitor a caseload of participants, engaging them through face-to-face, telephone, and video support. Your role involves providing and coordinating tailored support packages to enhance participants' health, wellbeing, self-confidence, and self-esteem. You will help them understand their strengths and aspirations, advancing their journey towards training, job search, and employment. This includes developing and delivering one-to-one and group interventions, conducting risk and need assessments, and creating SMART action plans. Your support will be flexible and holistic, continually reassessing participant needs. Building relationships with key partners and stakeholders is crucial, as is recording and maintaining accurate case notes using the ECCO system. You will comply with organisational policies and procedures and work flexibly across Greater Manchester. You will involve relevant agencies within the partnership and wider community, matching them to the participant’s needs through a unique and adaptable delivery approach. You will work with individuals aged 18 and over who have multiple complex needs, such as entrenched worklessness, living in a jobless household, debt, mental health issues, homelessness, a history of offending, disabilities, and other health issues including drug and alcohol addiction. You will offer one-to-one support for a minimum of six months, removing barriers to help participants move forward and achieve positive outcomes in training, job search, or employment. Delivery will be across the ten local authorities in Greater Manchester, predominantly in Stockport.
About you: The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in case recording and management, with experience in handling a personal caseload and the ability to recognise and appropriately address safeguarding concerns. Proficiency in IT systems and case management is essential, along with experience in providing one-to-one support, advice, employability, or housing services. Knowledge of careers advice and benefits, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach to working from various locations across Greater Manchester are also required. The candidate should be able to build positive relationships with service users, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
If you’re passionate about making a difference in people’s lives and supporting them to thrive, we’d love to hear from you! We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.
The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.
