Following the retirement of the current postholder, Stockport Grammar Junior School is looking to recruit a Deputy Head (Operations/Pastoral) from 1 January 2027. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Junior School, combining strategic leadership with day-to-day operational management.
We Are Looking For
- A strong classroom practitioner.
- At least 7 years’ experience within the 3-11 age range, ideally with experience across more than one key stage.
- Evidence of leadership in a phase, or a subject, with demonstrable impact.
- Experience in managing pastoral needs.
- Strong organisational skills – whole school diary management etc.
- Deputy DSL or DSL experience (desirable).
- Change management experience.
- Recent and relevant knowledge of the primary curriculum.
- Experience in contributing towards the formulation of a school development plan.
- Team-player willing to embrace change and a challenge.
The School offers a competitive salary and enrolment into a generous contributory pension scheme. Employees who have children in the School are eligible for a percentage remission of fees. Lunch is provided free of charge during term time and all staff can use the School’s sports facilities, which includes use of the swimming pool.
