About Stockport Grammar Junior School: We're looking for an After School Care Assistant to work alongside our After School Care Manager. You'll supervise children and deliver activities that make the end of their school day something special. The post involves working with children across the age range of the Junior School, assisting the After School Care Manager with the supervision of, and provision of activities for, children between the ages of 3-11.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children aged 3-11 in after school activities
- Work closely with the After School Care Manager to deliver quality care
- Lead activities and games that children love
- Maintain a safe, fun environment for all children
- Attend training and school events as needed
Working arrangements:
You'll work 3:00-6:00pm during term time only. We particularly welcome candidates willing to join our Holiday Club team during school breaks.
Qualifications:
- Relevant interest in and, ideally, experience of working with young children
- A flexible, proactive approach to work
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A good sense of humour
- The ability to work as part of a team and be self‑motivated
- An understanding of the need to maintain security and confidentiality
- The ability to work to deadlines and handle diverse workloads without direct supervision
- You’ll need to be reliable with excellent time‑keeping
- The ability to work on your own initiative and act as a leader with people of all ages is essential
