Responsibilities
- Match Day cover (home / away / tour) for Academy teams
- Responsible for Emergency Action Plans across all playing venues
- Lead and coordinate assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions and implement treatment and rehabilitation strategies
- Pretraining management of players including strapping, taping, and treatment administration
- Close liaison with medical staff, club doctor, sports scientists, and other multidisciplinary team members to optimise player medical care and performance
- Delivery of individual and squad-based injury prevention programmes based on screening, medical history, and injury trends
- Implement return-to-play protocols for injured Academy players
- Examine and assess all new players prior to signing
- Implement strategies to maximise player performance from a medical perspective
- Report all injuries to Academy manager and coaching staff and provide updates on rehabilitation progress
- Assist with arranging consultations with medical personnel and investigations related to injuries
- Participate in clinical governance and maintain professional registration
- Ensure all medical supplies and equipment are stocked, replenished, and secured
- Contribute to education of placement students within the Academy Medical Department
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy / Sports Therapy / Sports Rehabilitation Degree
- Registered with CSP and HCPC / SST / BASRAT
- Valid ITMMiF course
- Valid IFAS qualification
- Valid professional indemnity insurance
- Comprehensive knowledge of football and medical governing body regulations, including anti-doping regulations
- Research and development experience in injury prevention and rehabilitation
