We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic person to come and join our caring and inclusive primary school community.
This rewarding role involves supporting the emotional wellbeing, personal development and welfare of our pupils, by helping them to overcome barriers to learning so they can achieve their full potential. You will work closely with children, families, school staff and external agencies to provide effective pastoral support and promote positive outcomes for every child.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and want to make a difference to the pupils and their families.

We are looking for someone who:
- Is kind and caring and wants to work to support children and their families to help remove barriers they may be facing
- Can build positive trusting relationships with pupils, their families and other professionals
- Can get to know the children well and really understand their barriers and needs to provide effective support and guidance
- Is honest, transparent and trustworthy and can act as a role model in all aspects of life
- Has excellent interpersonal skills, is highly organised with excellent time management and written and verbal communication and also IT skills
- Enjoys working as part of a team and can use their own initiative
- Is professional and committed at all times
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child and shares our commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, value and able to thrive
Key responsibilities:
- To assist in the assessment of pupils to identify those in need of support and help coordinate and deliver targeted support and intervention strategies to address any concerns around wellbeing, resilience, behaviour and attendance
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
- To maintain appropriate and accurate record systems and processes, including sensitive data relating to attendance, wellbeing and safeguarding
- To carry out Early Help assessments, liaise with agencies and attend meetings
- To work with the school’s safeguarding and attendance lead, attend meetings and carry out home visits
- To work collaboratively with teachers, other staff in school and external professionals to help meet pupils’ needs.
