This is a full-time, permanent position supporting the administration and minute taking of Child Protection Conferences for the Children’s Safeguarding Unit and/or the minute taking of Adult Safeguarding meetings for Adult Social Care. Our offices are based in Stockport’s civic complex, with the opportunity of hybrid working both in the office and from home to meet service needs.
In this role you will see the vital work carried out by the professionals we support to keep the people of Stockport safe. The role centres around minute taking of safeguarding meetings, either in Children’s or Adults’ Social Care, and the administration linked to this. Training and support will be provided to the successful candidate; however, previous experience in a Social Care or minute taking role is preferable.
You will be a confident and experienced minute taker who can take accurate and high-quality minutes of safeguarding meetings, using a laptop. This is a demanding and challenging role, and you will need emotional resilience as often you will be listening to distressing and upsetting information.
Working on your own and as part of a very supportive team, you will use your initiative to ensure key work is completed to meet statutory timescales. Part of your role will be to organise Child Protection or Adult Safeguarding meetings and enter and retrieve confidential and sensitive information on case management systems.
You should be computer literate and proficient in working with standard office IT applications including MS Office. You will be expected to learn how to navigate in-house ICT systems to work with data and information. You will work as part of the Business Support Hub working with front line services and will therefore need the ability to build effective working relationships, work using your own initiative, be proactive and flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
