The Governing Board of St Paul’s CE Primary School and the Headteacher are looking to appoint an Attendance Lead and Family Support Officer. We are looking for a dedicated professional who will provide a comprehensive and high-quality support service to the school to improve overall school attendance. This role will involve tracking attendance data, addressing attendance-related issues, and implementing strategies to improve attendance rates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading on attendance and working proactively with pupils, families and external agencies to maintain and improve attendance.
- Using Department for Education guidance and research to implement evidence-based approaches that improve and sustain exceptional levels of school attendance.
- Providing support and guidance to families to help overcome barriers to learning and attendance.
- Maintaining accurate records and monitoring the impact of interventions.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be resilient, proactive and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
- Have experience of working with children and families in an educational or support setting.
- Understand current DfE attendance guidance and be able to use research and evidence-based practice to drive improvement.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.
