As an Experienced Social Worker within our Family Help Team, you will provide a front-line service, working in line with Stockport Family's start well and early help strategies, national supporting families programme and the healthy child programme 0-19 to ensure families receive the right response at the right time. You will play an integral role in children and family's journey through services and in particular key transition points (stepping up and down from statutory social work) and act as lead professional and/or keyworker for those families in need of more help.
Responsibilities
- Provide front-line social work services in line with Stockport Family's strategies.
- Support families through key transition points between statutory and non‑statutory services.
- Act as lead professional and/or keyworker for families requiring additional help.
- Collaborate with the senior practitioner, social work team and Family Help Team leader to deliver coordinated support.
Qualifications
- At least two years of post‑qualification social work experience.
- Good communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships with team members.
- Strong time‑management skills and ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of early help and statutory interventions, including Stockport's threshold of need document.
- Understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and Stockport's entitlement framework.
- Commitment to professional development and engagement with learning opportunities.
