Responsibilities

  • Clerking Coroners Courts, ensuring all witnesses are present and sworn in (whether in person or virtually).
  • Managing the Court rooms audio‑visual and recording equipment, including the downloading of Inquest hearings and preparing audio disks when required.
  • Completing after Inquest paperwork to allow death certificates to be issued by the Registrars of Birth, Marriages & Deaths.
  • Assisting in the management of Juries when required.
  • Managing all enquiries post inquest hearing.
  • Reception cover.
  • Safe evacuation of premises in the event of an emergency.

Additional Information

Training will be provided for all the necessary duties, so prior experience of working in the Coroners service is not essential. Very smart office wear, including jackets are required in court.

Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify.

Working Hours

13.26 per hour plus a rolled up holiday rate, therefore 14.86 per hour Casual (Monday to Friday).
