Job Title: Finance Assistant
Salary: NJC Scale 3 points 5-6 pro rata-actual salary paid: Β£22,908-Β£23,272
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern:8.00am-4.00pm Mon-Thu 8.00am-3.30pm Fridays term time plus 3 inset days

We are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic finance assistant to join our busy administration team. You would be working closely with the Finance Manager and play an essential role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the school. You will ensure smooth processes, accuracy, and strict compliance with financial regulations are followed.
Key responsibilities
- To process supplier invoices, raise purchase orders, and resolve payment queries.
- To oversee online school payment systems for trips, lunches, and school activities.
- To maintain accurate digital financial records and update school management systems (e.g., SIMS, Excel.
- To assist with month-end procedures, bank reconciliations, and monitoring petty cash.
- To deal with routine finance queries from staff, parents, and external auditors in a professional manner.
- To provide administrative support to the main office as and when required.
Who we are looking for
- Qualifications: Good literacy and numeracy skills, including GCSE Maths and English (Grades 4-9 / A*-C) or equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative or finance role, ideally within an educational setting (though training on school systems will be provided).
- IT Competence: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Someone with a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational abilities, and a commitment to handling sensitive data with total confidentiality
